I’m attending the second annual Atlassian Summit in San Francisco again this year. I had a great time last year and I am looking forward to another great conference as well as wondering how Atlassian is planning to up the game this year.

While looking through the limited promo material on the 2010 Summit site I ran across the Summit Overview Video and decided to relive some of the highlights from last year’s conference. I never expected to see myself in the video, but if you fast forward to 1:19 in the clip below you will see me in a yellow polo (third from the left). Yes I’m eating, not the most flattering footage. Hopefully if I make the highlight reel for this year’s summit it will not involve eating or some other less flattering pose. I’m ready for my close up Mr. Cannon-Brookes.

Pants On The Ground

by John Bowersox on January 17, 2010

What is it about American Idol that makes people lose their minds?

Since the beginning, I have never been able to get into the show. Sure I’ve watched the first couple episodes of some seasons for a good laugh, but as soon as that is over I just can’t get into it. I still wonder why some people subject themselves to the show when it is pretty obvious that they have no chance. Is five minutes of fame (or should I say shame) really worth it?

The above being said, over the last few days I have been seeing “Pants on the Ground” as status updates on Twitter and Facebook. Call me curious, but I just had to figure out what it meant. It took me less than a minute to search Google and find the video on YouTube.

The song was written and performed by General Larry Platt who is best known for his work in the civil rights movement of the 1960’s. I have to admit that it is great to see a man from this movement telling today’s youth (and the not so young) to get their pants off the ground. I know I am sick and tired of it myself.

If you haven’t seen the video I can only suggest you watch it, but beware that you will definitely be laughing so be aware of your surroundings.

This Candy Dispenser Could Make You Thinner

January 13, 2010

Well, Mujahid Abdulrahim at Project 240 has built this M&M Dispenser Maze that does just that.

If the candy rack at the office worked this way I may not have gained what is affectionately known as the “Mars 20″.

Starting over. For many this can be a difficult decision, but for me it was rather easy to come to the conclusion.
You see its been nearly seven months since I posted anything here. My last post was about my trip to the Atlassian Summit in early June of last year. Since then I’ve basically been [...]
